Have a Happy Mediwell Mother’s Day

If you have ever needed a hero in your life, there is only one person you end up turning to, your mother. Your mother is there from day one all the way past the day you reach the pearly gates. Your mother is your friend, your confidant, your caretaker, your teacher and your hero. There is nothing like a mother’s love and we need to celebrate it every single day, but instead, we have one day, on the second weekend of May, where we officially do.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we rediscovered the importance of family and the great work mothers do for us. They are our caretakers and some of our staff members, such as nurses and doctors became new mothers as well as patients. We can all agree that becoming a new mother is already a challenge on its own, but even more so during this global pandemic. We have frontline workers who are new mothers as well as seasoned mothers and caretakers. This Mother’s Day, Mediwell honours all mothers on our team, amongst our patients and within our networks.
We salute:
- Our new mothers, who gave birth amidst a global pandemic – we know it hasn’t been easy and we salute your hard work and sacrifice.
- Our expectant mothers who are welcoming new life into the world soon.
- Our iconic matriarchs who continue to be shining examples of what it truly means to be a mother.
- Our adoptive and foster mothers who take care of children who lost their parents.
- Our mothers who take care of children with special needs and disabilities, working hard to give them the best chance at the best life possible.
Anybody can be a mother, be she biological, adoptive, grandmother, godmother, gay, straight, trans, rich, poor, disabled, old or young.
Let’s celebrate and remember the mothers who are our heroes, even when we don’t think about all they have done for us. They are the reasons that we exist and the people who never stop caring.
Not only is the CEO of Mediwell, Dr Maggie, a frontline worker, she is also a mother of 3 and the founder of the Healthcare Heroes Memorial, which honours the frontline workers whom have sacrificed their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of these frontline workers were mothers and we should always remember them and their families.
At Mediwell, we honour the mothers who bring their sick children to the doctor. We remember the mothers who come in to take care of their own health while wearing many hats and we remember the mothers who have left us. We celebrate Mother’s Day in May but we also celebrate them every day of the year, because that is what they deserve.
Mediwell Dainfern Medical & Denal Centre is a 100% female-owned medical centre which hosts a variety of hard-working staff members who are also mothers who provide top-level healthcare to its patients.
